Project Overview: Construction of a new police station and watch house, while working around a fully functioning facility. The project involves the demolition of existing buildings and rebuilding a new station, in five separable portions.
The project objective was to replace the existing facilities with a New Police Station and Watch House to meet the current and projected needs for the police services in the Kingaroy Region.
The project was delivered in stages to allow for the continued operation of the Watch House and the Police Station until the new facilities replaced each.
Scenes of Crime was built first, Watch House with partial car parking was built second and the Police Station including site works and remainder of car parking completed last.
The combined precinct of the Courthouse, Police Station and Watch House is a significant landmark in the regional township of Kingaroy and the new buildings reflect the prominence of the site within the township and the required community responsiveness.
