This project involved the construction of a new Learning Centre and refurbishment of Block G at Malanda State High School, in the Atherton Tablelands in Far North Queensland.
The new Learning Centre is a 2-storey building including two modern kitchen classrooms, café, four GLAs, staffrooms, laundry, various toilet facilities, and a lift. The ground floor is largely a student area with handball courts and outdoor teaching areas. It also includes staffrooms and student toilets.
The building is linked to the existing school with a covered walkway, and an art classroom, laundry and storage facility were completed in a separate building. The project also included the upgrade of the school’s electrical, fire, sewerage and stormwater infrastructure and a new 27-vehicle car park.
